Cash Business Initiatives Unit

Cash and Voucher Assistance is an approach that provides cash and or vouchers directly to recipients of aid enabling them to meet own priority needs with dignity. CVA can be applied across all sectors to meet specific needs.

This Unit leads and assures quality for Cash Transfer Programming, an innovation for humanitarian aid in refugee and internally displaced contexts covering all sectors

CVA INTERVENTIONS

Multi Purpose Cash Assistance (MPCT)for FLOODS/LANDSLIDE

17,646 floods/landslides disaster affected populations have been supported with MPCT in Budaka, Sironko, Mbale, Ntoroko, Kasese, Bulambuli

CVA for ANTICIPATORY DRM

Through interventions such as Cash for Work and MPCT for Anticipatory DRM, 4,540 most at risk populations in Kisoro, Kasese and Mbale have been supported to mitigate the impact of forecasted disaster events

MPCT POPULATION MOVEMENT

URCS through its programs has supported over 14,906 most vulnerable refugees to meet their most basic needs in the refugee settlements of Nakivale, Kyangwali, Kyaka II and Kiryandongo.

CVA MENSTRUAL HYGIENE MG’T

3,945 women of reproductive age have been empowered through CVA to access menstrual hygiene products that meet their specific needs

CVA EDUCATION IN EMERGENCIES

2,374 at risk school going children in Kyaka II refugee settlement supported with CVA for school fees and support to scholastic materials to enable them stay in school

CVA COVID 19, CVA LIVELIHOODS

21,351 most vulnerable individuals supported with CVA for COVID 19 response
9,210 supported with CVA for livelihoods.
