The Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) has today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Nation Media Group (NMG) as part of its efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships that enhance local resource mobilization and amplify humanitarian initiatives. The MoU was signed by Ms. Susan Nsibirwa, Managing Director of Nation Media Group Uganda, and Mr. Robert Kwesiga, Secretary General of the Uganda Red Cross Society, during a ceremony held at the URCS headquarters in Rubaga.
This partnership marks a significant milestone in promoting humanitarian values, visibility, and collaboration between the two organizations. It is designed to leverage Nation Media Group’s wide media reach and URCS’s community-based humanitarian network to inspire action and strengthen public engagement in lifesaving programs. It also seeks to increase visibility of URCS programs, enhance advocacy for humanitarian issues, and mobilize resources to strengthen community-centered interventions across the country.

Speaking at the event, Robert Kwesiga the Secretary General Uganda Red Cross Society noted that the Red Cross delights in Media Partnerships as a way of enhancing Institutional Public Image and Brand. We are delighted to formalize this partnership with Nation Media Group. This partnership with Nation Media Group comes at a time when humanitarian needs are increasing and demand more local support. Through this collaboration, we aim to reach more people with lifesaving messages, promote preparedness, and rally communities and partners to support humanitarian work led by the Uganda Red Cross Society,”
In her remarks, Susan Nsibirwa, Managing Director of Nation Media Group Uganda, reaffirmed their commitment to supporting humanitarian communication, visibility, and local resource mobilization. “As a leading media house, we believe in the power of storytelling to drive positive change. Partnering with the Uganda Red Cross Society enables us to use our platforms not only to promote humanitarian values and highlight critical issues, but also to rally communities, institutions, and partners to contribute resources that strengthen local humanitarian action,” Ms. Nsibirwa noted.
The partnership reinforces both institutions shared vision of service to humanity and aligns with URCS’s ongoing efforts to build strategic collaborations that enhance local capacity, visibility, and impact in delivering humanitarian assistance.
