Uganda Red Cross Society (URCS) is committed to leveraging digital solutions to enhance the efficiency, responsiveness, and impact of humanitarian assistance. In collaboration with the Netherlands 510 digital team, URCS has standardizing a centralized Digital Feedback Mechanism for all projects. This innovative system integrates multiple feedback channels through a web-based application; The ESPO CRM Advanced Package hosted on Azure Cloud and linked to the Kobo feedback tool.
This initiative aligns with URCS’s long-term strategies to improve humanitarian response:
- URCS Five-Year Strategy: The Digital Feedback Mechanism enhances community engagement, strengthens the Planning, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Reporting (PMER) function, and improves information management across all levels of the organization.
- URCS Digital Transformation Strategy: This initiative supports the digitalization of feedback collection and visualization, ensuring real-time decision-making and adaptive humanitarian response.
- URCS Essential Themes Strategy: The system contributes to developing and implementing a digital feedback framework that effectively “closes the feedback loop,” ensuring that community concerns are not only heard but also addressed in a timely manner.
URCS is currently piloting the Digital Feedback System in the Bunyangabu and Kasese branches, where the PPP project interventions are being implemented. The pilot phase will provide valuable insights to refine and scale the system for broader adoption across all URCS operations.
By integrating technology-driven feedback systems, URCS is transforming humanitarian assistance in Uganda. This digital approach enables:
- Real-time data collection to capture and respond to emerging community needs effectively.
- Agile decision-making that ensures timely, data-driven humanitarian responses.
- Continuous operational improvements across URCS projects, leading to more efficient service delivery.
- Enhanced community resilience by fostering accountability, transparency, and engagement in humanitarian programs.
Through these advancements, URCS is strengthening its connection with communities, ensuring that the National Society’s humanitarian interventions are more responsive, inclusive, and impactful. As the Digital Feedback Mechanism expands, it will continue to play a crucial role in shaping a more resilient and informed humanitarian response across Uganda.
